## Finding

A fragrance can hold on to a person, a place or a chapter of someone’s life. The story people tell about it can matter more than the notes in the bottle.

## Conversations

The accounts connect scent to partners, leaving home, weddings and holidays. Some people even keep a perfume they no longer enjoy because of what it brings back.

Counterpoint: Memory is not reliably cheerful. In the recently indexed memory thread a bereaved participant says they are glad a parent's scent is no longer popular because smelling it elsewhere may be hard. Another 'mom' participant imagines a comforting mother through Glossier You despite a difficult real relationship.

## Recommendation for the Sol de Janeiro launch

Build “Feel the Year” stories around a specific person, place or moment. Invite people to choose a scent for a memory they want to make, and make personal sharing optional.
