## Finding

People do not always follow the fragrance calendar. A summery scent can brighten a cold day, while a sweeter one can feel cosy in winter and too much in the heat.

SDJ accounts show both seasonal preferences and people happily ignoring them. The opportunity is to find new reasons to wear a favourite through the year, not tell everyone to replace it each season.

Counterpoint: Season rules are actively disputed. Indoor temperature, shared spaces, personal taste and desired feeling can matter more than the calendar.

## Recommendation for the Sol de Janeiro launch

Build a year of recognisable moments around the scents: a cold-day escape, an evening in or the first warm weekend. Let wearers explain their choices, with space for those who keep the same favourite all year.

though I mostly buy small decants or 5ml bottles, so it’s not actually a massive volume- I just really like having variety and being able to match my perfume to my mood! Usually I wear two per day, with work fragrances being light and pleasant and more “professional”, and evening/sleep fragrances being as comfy, atmospheric or downright weird as I like.

I sprayed some Angel on my wrist earlier, and I found that the heat of the day (32 degrees today in the UK woohoo! ☀️) really brought the notes out.

There are no strict rules, it's more a matter of time and places. If you're going to the gym or a sauna, or taking a 12 hours flight, or going to the hospital for a medical visit, all of these in the middle of winter... don't wear a strong, cloying perfume. Basically, be mindful of people around you. If you want to wear the sweetest, most sirupy cloying fragrance in your collection when you're alone at home and it's 35°C, treat yourself. But if you're at the office and you're 3 people in a tiny room....
